The most well known architectural structures in Santa Barbara are the old Hotel Virginia, the old Mission’s pink towers and the El Pueblo Viejo district. The County Courthouse features beautiful murals, and the clock tower offers panoramic city views. The Lobero theatre was built in 1873 and rebuilt in the 1920’s by George Washington Smith. These architectural examples highlight the founder’s detailed planning of the city.
